Chicago Engagement Session

Chicago Engagement Session

Another gorgeous Chicago engagement session!! From the moment I caught sight of Nikki walking  up to me in this gorgeous red dress, I knew we were going to have an awesome session.  I’m not sure why, but I just love photographing red dresses!  Being a wedding photographer, let’s just say I don’t get to do that everyday!! On top of that, Nikki’s dress fit her to perfection and coordinated so well with Paul’s outfit; they just looked amazing!

We started our session off at the Board of Trade, standing right in the middle of the street (don’t worry, avoiding traffic is totally possible!) and then walked over to the riverwalk, stopping along the way to grab some photos of them walking across the street hand in hand, which turned out to be some of my fav shots of them!!  We stopped at LaSalle Bridge and got some beautiful golden hour sunlight shots, with the sun just pouring out between the buildings.

After a short walk on the Chicago Riverwalk, we headed to North Ave Beach.  I don’t know if you can tell yet from my blogs, but North Ave Beach and the Chicago Riverwalk are probably two of the most popular spots for engagement sessions this year!!  While at North Avenue, we stopped at some sand dunes while waiting for Bindi. Who is Bindi, you might ask?  Nikki and Paul’s gorgeous little black and white pup!!  Nikki’s sister showed up with Bindi and we did a short little photoshoot filled with puppy love, before Bindi left for a walk while we finished the session.

We strolled down the pier, and of course ended up getting their feet and pants/dress wet with a little splashing ! And finally, my all-time-favorite ending to a perfect shoot—popping some champagne in front of the city skyline!!
