Glessner House Chicago Wedding

So excited to share this amazing Glessner House Chicago wedding!  When I look back at these wedding photos I seriously can’t believe just how beautiful this day was!  Let’s just say that as a photographer who is almost always shooting in the cities, like Chicago and NYC, getting the pleasure of shooting an outdoor reception is a rare treat.  And the weather on Jason and Anna’s day was absolutely perfect.

Anyway, let’s talk about the day!! I started the day with Anna as she got ready at a beautiful Airbnb just walking distance from Glessner House!  I love love love doing getting-ready photos in an Airbnb; they often just seem to have more personality than hotel rooms!  Afterwards we simply walked over to the venue, Anna in her wedding dress and all.  Jason was also getting ready (with Jake photographing) at Glessner House.  Glessner House is so unique and it’s so fun to spend time exploring to take full advantage of those vintage indoor spaces.

We went into their sweet first look right outside of the reception area, and then quickly headed to a nearby park to do a few portraits. This park was really special because Jason had literally designed the park, and it overlooked the Chicago skyline!  I always love to do some portraits in an area that defines or is symbolic of a couple’s relationship or experiences, the way this park did for these two!

After a quick walk we headed back to the venue and got ready to get them married!!  They had the ceremony at the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens, which is right out the front door of the Glessner House.  The lighting was PERFECT with the sun setting just behind them.  Can I just say again how much I love outdoors ceremonies (and receptions).  They said their ‘I do’s’ and afterwards did a quick walk-around where we did a photo with EVERYONE who attended the wedding.  YES, it is possible, I’ve got you!!

Then, as the guests headed into cocktail hour, I stole Anna and Jason away for 5 more minutes of photos, and also to give them a little time alone to breathe it all in, before greeting all of their guests.

We headed back for cocktails and reception, and it was all beautiful.  Not only is Glessner House gorgeous during the day, but decked out in twinkle lights it transfers into a gorgeous night event space too!  Thank you so much, Anna and Jason, for giving me the honor of documenting your day!!  It was lovely to be a part of it.
