Hi I'm Hanna!

I grew up with a camera hanging from my neck.  You could say it was my go to accessory... However, it took me until I was in high school to realize that photography was what I wanted to do with my life.  By my senior year of high school I was shooting weddings with my mother.  One year later, as a freshman at Columbia College Chicago, I was shooting weddings on my own and discovering the ins and outs of running my own business. Six years down the road, 100+ weddings later, a Photography BA from Columbia College Chicago under my belt, and having studying image making for six months in Bath, England, I am actively shooting weddings all year long and have transformed a beloved hobby into a full time career.

I want to create wedding photographs that really speak to you, photos that transport you back to that moment in time when you look at them.  I am less about super traditional or overly-posed images, and more about capturing the special moments and details that define your love. My favorite part of the wedding day is creating beautiful, meaningful portraits of the bride and groom. Getting outside to do some bride and groom portraits, if at all possible, is SO important and gives you a break from the craziness that goes on throughout your wedding day (get that wind in your hair girl!).  I use ways of directing you in front of the camera that inspire real, organic moments; that create interactions that look and feel like you!  My goal is to ensure that your photos capture your essence as a couple, the joy between your friends and family, and both the small and large details and elements that make your wedding day unique, all in the most beautiful and natural way possible.

As your wedding photographer,  you can be sure that I am always thinking out of the box, full of ideas and energy.  I am inspired by true-life love stories, looking for fresh perspectives, and by the magic of light and shadow. I am excited and driven to create. I think on my feet and am able to quickly react to the environment and come up with a creative plan.

When not taking photos, I love cooking with my friends or going out and eating as many tacos and trying as many different hot sauces as possible.  I spend too much money online shopping (You can never have enough shoes right?) I love dark chocolate, disposable cameras, too much coffee and hand written letters.

I love science fiction books & TV shows, turquoise rings, and my cat Charlie, who honesty, is literally perfect.  I’m in love with the beautiful city of Chicago. Discovering new places in Chicago is one of my favorite pastimes, (and always means new and fun places to shoot portraits!)  I have a wanderlust spirit, crave adventure and love surprises. From studying abroad during my undergrad in England, to exploring the canals of Venice or abandoned caves in Santa Cruz,  to shooting a destination wedding and falling in love with the country of Guatemala, travel is what fuels my inspiration and creativity.
