Maddie and Neal Wedding

It is always so much fun to head back home to Minnesota to shoot!  I got to travel to Minnesota for both Maddie and Neal’s engagement session and their wedding day (by the way, there are no travel fees to Minnesota, just like Chicago!).  You can check out their amazing Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session here!

Maddie started the day getting ready at their house, and Neal got dressed at the home of a friend nearby.  We all met up at a park, right in front of a gazebo where they have spent a lot of time, to do a first look and start off the portrait session!  Maddie’s dress was breath taking and I had so much fun at this little park for the session! They were so awesome at dealing with the Minnesota weather, it was the end of September and it was seriously only 30 degrees out!!  I loved the bridesmaids’ yellow dresses and totally dug the jean jackets!! We were all thankful they had them, too, because it was a day we really needed them!

We met with their family at the park (only a 2 minute drive from the venue) and did the family photos with a pretty green background before heading up to the venue at Brookview Golf Course!  Maddie and Neal warmed up for a bit and then we did some additional portraits of them around the venue building, and even one shot out on the golf course—we needed that epic pick-up shot!! We also popped and they drank some champagne, because is it really a wedding day without popping a champagne bottle?!

We headed upstairs for their quick outdoor ceremony and then in for reception!  All of the bridal party were couples, so I loved the shot of them all kissing at the head table, SO fun!  All the wedding guests would bang pans and each time a different couple of among the guests had to kiss!!  It is a really fun new family tradition that had I had never seen before.

To end the night they opened the dance floor with an epic, choreographed first dance!  Everyone was totally impressed! After the dance floor opened to everyone, we headed outside for a few final night shots, which are always some of my favorites.  Again, congrats to Maddie and Neal, thank you so much for having me there to document your beautiful wedding day! :)
