Minnesota Wedding Photography

I was looking forward to this wedding all summer. Not just because I got to head back to Minnesota to photograph a wedding.  But also because Tayler and I are old camp friends. The additional bonus was that a ton of our old friends from camp were flying home to Minnesota and I finally got to see them all again!

I also did something a little different and started this wedding with the boys, something I usually leave to my second photographer. The guys were meeting early to get duded up at this cool old fashioned barber shop, and I couldn’t miss the chance to document those moments.  It was so fun starting with guys in Minneapolis that morning, then driving over to Dellwood Country Club to meet up with Tayler and all of her bridesmaids!!  As I was driving over to Dellwood, however, it started to rain.  I immediately got a text from Tayler; I knew she really wanted to have her ceremony and all of her wedding party photos outside!! So we waited it out.  She got dressed and ready and Voila! about five minutes (seriously I’m not exaggerating) before the first look, the rain and black skies just suddenly cleared up.  It was a wedding day miracle!!

Let’s be honest, I am a sap and I cry at most weddings I shoot.  But seeing Tayler, someone I grew up with, walk down the aisle, was a completely different feeling then I have ever previously experienced.  It seriously gave me chills—she looked so beautiful and was clearly just so happy.

After the ceremony they greeted all their guests and headed into the reception. All the speeches were so much fun.  Wedding speeches are my favorite part of the day by far. Something about getting to know the couple even better through their friends’ and families’ eyes and stories is so fun and personal.

After the speeches and dinner, I pulled Adam and Tayler outside for the epic sunset.  Amazing for golden hour portraits.  Let’s just say that when you start the day with black clouds and rain, but still manage to get your beautiful outside ceremony and you end the day with an epic sunset…Perfection!

Finally we headed inside for some fun games and dancing.  It was a blast and a day I will seriously always remember. Thank you so much, Tayler and Adam, for giving me the honor of documenting your day. I love you guys!!

After checking out their wedding photos, you should probably see their Day After Adventure Session!! Minnesota wedding photography
