Northerly Island Chicago Engagement
Northerly Island Chicago Engagement – Molly and Kevin decided that they wanted to do an engagement session both to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day. I always recommend all my couples to do an engagement session for this reason! It is especially great if they are nervous about getting photos taken or have not had professional photos before. For one, it helps you get you comfortable with the camera. But even more than that, it gets you comfortable and excited to work with me!! And I love getting to know the two of you before the wedding day. When we have a chance to get to know each other a little better, it just helps wedding days to go more smoothly, feel easier and just be more fun!
Of course, we have to talk about Northerly Island, because, wow! Is this location everything or what? It is a hidden park at the end of the Museum Campus, about as far as you can drive past Adler Planetarium. It is a bit of a walk to get to the wildflowers and skyline views, but it is WAY worth it. Even if you have no plans of doing your engagement session here, you need to go hike this spot. And yes, I said hike! Northerly Island is probably the biggest hike I have done in Chicago, haha. Plus it even had beautiful views from the top!!
Not only did we hit Northerly Island in this session, but we started at the Field Museum for some formal photos with the gorgeous stairs and ended our session with skyline shots right in front of the Adler Planetarium. This spot is so beautiful for photos, but if you are heading here make sure you get there at sunset. Watching the sun peak through behind the building is just perfect for photos!
Molly and Kevin showed me Northerly Island for their engagement session, so this was my first time there. But if you like this Northerly Island Chicago Engagement Session I bet you will love THIS session at North Ave Beach too!
