Winter Engagement Session in Chicago. Taylor & Matt currently reside in the suburbs but they wanted something different for their engagement session so they decided to make their way into the city! We actually did their session on the day that there wedding day was supposed to be in 2020 – but of course due to the pandemic plans changed.

Lincoln Park

They wanted to do something fun for this session which is why they decided to come down to the city. We started at some really cool spots, like Lincoln Park here in Chicago. The day was so beautiful and the park was basically empty so we could really experiment with lighting & different poses. It seriously was so much fun!! It was pretty cloudy but I actually love this kind of weather. Cloudy weather is perfect because no matter which direction we go in, we know that we’ll get beautiful light. That is definitely a perk while shooting in the middle of winter because there is a ton of cloudy days.

I absolutely loved Taylors whole outfit, she got her hair & makeup done and looked STUNNING! I loved the entire vibe of the session and it seriously was such a blast. Taylor & Matt even brought their own blanket and bottle of champagne and a little cheese board to celebrate. They ate some strawberries, drank some champagne & just enjoyed each other’s company while in the middle of Chicago’s Lincoln Park.

After, they were such troopers and did a quick outfit change in their car. Remember, since it was in the middle of the pandemic we had to get creative! Taylor & Matt changed into more formal attire and we headed towards Downtown Chicago for some more photos. Picture this, it’s the middle of December in Chicago and it’s freezing but they seriously made the most of the day.

Wrigley Building & Chicago Riverwalk

We went around and took some photos at the Wrigley Building and the Chicago Riverwalk. Also, since their wedding is Christmas themed and because Taylor loves Christmas so much we had to take some photos in front of the big Christmas tree. After that, by the Wrigley Building there is always someone playing a saxophone and since he thought Taylor & Matt just got married (due to her jacket) he began playing music for them. We were able to capture some amazing photos of Taylor & Matt doing a sort of “first dance” type moment in the middle of Downtown Chicago & it was seriously so beautiful.

We then walked around a bit more and took some more photos around the city. This was the perfect way to celebrate their “not wedding day” and have it be super fun, laidback and romantic.
