Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool Chicago Elopement

Jamie and Spencer started their day getting ready at Hotel Lincoln in Lincoln Park. Theirs was the first wedding I shot once Covid restrictions in Chicago lifted enough to allow small, limited guest weddings. And needless to say, we were ALL excited! They had done such an amazing job planning this beautiful, intimate (14 person), super Covid-compliant wedding. And with a ceremony at Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, a Chicago Elopement couldn’t be more beautiful.

I had scouted ahead of time and found this amazing ivy covered wall, and we went there for their first look, which was just breathtaking. Plus Spencer’s reaction to seeing Jamie for the first time was priceless! Afterward, we jumped in the bus to head downtown to do some portraits in the city. We started at Kinzie Bridge, such a popular portrait spot, and wow, you can see why!

Then it was time to head back to Lincoln Park to the Lily Pool for some amazing family portraits. It started raining, just a very light drizzle, luckily, and we were able to go ahead and do the ceremony outside, so lush and beautiful!  Afterwards we did more couples portraits there at the Lily Pool, the colors and lighting were absolutely gorgeous! 

To make matters even cuter, the Alfred Lily Pool is a place that has special significance to Jamie and Spencer’s relationship, they have spent a lot of time there, and always took their pup on walks there, so having their wedding at the pond was so meaningful. 

The reception was on the rooftop of Hotel Lincoln, which is called J. Parker and the rooftop is STUNNING!! There were little speeches and big laughs and THEN!! A beautiful rainbow came out, arching over the Chicago skyline! We went in to dinner and there was cheers-ing and we all watched as the sun went down and the lights of the city came up, and it was a magical ending to a perfect day!
