The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel epitomizes Los Angeles: historic, stylish, and iconic. Located on Hollywood Boulevard, this property blends Old Hollywood appeal with contemporary event spaces, from rooftop celebrations to moody ballrooms and poolside receptions. It’s no surprise that several shows and movies have been filmed here. If you’re planning a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel wedding, this rooftop celebration is full of inspo.
Lee and Chris’ rooftop wedding is a perfect example of how this venue can feel both relaxed and iconic. Their day was intimate, stylish, and centered around the vibes and views that make couples fall in love with a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel wedding in the first place.
The Hollywood Roosevelt offers character, flexibility, and great photo spots. This guide highlights what makes it stand out as an LA wedding venue.

Why Couples Love Getting Married at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
The Hollywood Roosevelt isn’t a typical hotel venue. With history, mystery, Old Hollywood glamor, modern design, and Hollywood’s best skyline views, it offers a range of aesthetics in one place.
You’ll find:
- A glass-enclosed rooftop for amazing skyline views
- The bold Blossom Ballroom for larger celebrations
- The iconic Tropicana Pool for big receptions
- Designer penthouses for getting ready and portraits
- Hidden gems like the Cinegrill Theater and an old Hollywood bar
Lee and Chris chose the rooftop for their ceremony and dinner, keeping the guest list to around 75 people. That number felt ideal for a seated dinner while still allowing space for guests to mingle and enjoy the views.
The rooftop itself feels like a hidden Hollywood treasure. Glass balcony walls offer uninterrupted city views and a bit of wind protection. Sunset here always impresses (even native Californians).

A Rooftop Wedding with Iconic Hollywood Views
Lee and Chris planned a relaxed rooftop ceremony followed by dinner beneath the fading light. When the sun dropped behind the skyline, the city lights began to sparkle and shine around them.
The transition from sunset to evening is a top reason couples choose the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. While the ballroom is the primary wedding space, the rooftop is ideal for a more intimate al fresco experience. It naturally shifts from a bright ceremony space to an intimate dinner setting.
Since the rooftop is best suited for smaller weddings, many couples use it for:
- Intimate ceremonies
- Cocktail hours
- Seated dinners under 100 guests
- Welcome parties or rehearsal dinners
Some couples choose passed hors d’oeuvres instead of a seated dinner to maximize space. Lee and Chris opted for a sit-down meal, which suited their guest count.

The Penthouses: A Hidden Favorite for Getting Ready
Lee and Chris got ready in one of the hotel’s redesigned penthouses, full of personality. The space felt more like a stylish West Hollywood home than a hotel room.
These penthouses are ideal for:
- Getting ready photos
- First looks
- Film and direct-flash photos
- Wedding party portraits
- Cocktail hour transitions
A main feature is the sunken conversation pit couch. Even with little portrait time, the space was fun. Larger wedding parties could create a full set of editorial images in this room alone.
After the ceremony, the couple used the penthouse as a cocktail hour while the rooftop switched to dinner. Guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, adding variety without requiring transportation. It’s a great space for transitions.

Beyond the Rooftop: Other Event Spaces at The Hollywood Roosevelt
While Lee and Chris focused on the rooftop, the Hollywood Roosevelt offers several other standout spaces.
The Blossom Ballroom
The Blossom Ballroom spans 4,500 square feet with a darker, moodier vibe. Think Old Hollywood with a modern edge. It’s ideal for larger weddings or dramatic receptions.
The Tropicana Pool
For large-scale celebrations, the Tropicana Pool accommodates up to 650 guests. Palm trees, vintage details, and iconic LA vibes make this one of the hotel’s most recognizable settings.
The Cinegrill Theater
Hidden behind a bookcase in the lower lobby, the Cinegrill Theater dates to the 1930s. It features a gilded stage, velvet lounge seating, and red curtains. With room for about 45 guests, it’s perfect for welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, or private performances.

Photo Opportunities Throughout the Hotel
A major benefit of a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel wedding is the range of photo locations.
Lee and Chris kept portraits minimal, but even a short walk inside produced standout images. Meanwhile, the pool area offered classic Hollywood energy without feeling staged.
Other notable photo spots include:
- The historic lobby bar
- The Tropicana Pool
- Rooftop skyline views
- The iconic Hollywood Roosevelt sign
- Penthouse interiors
Couples with extra portrait time can use the venue’s full range of settings (yes, please!).

Fashion Moment: Galia Lahav Bridal Style
Lee wore a gown by Galia Lahav, which was a spectacular moment in itself. (Side note: Galia Lahav is one of my favorite dress designers, and I photographed some of their 2026 Spring Couture Kiss & Tell collection at the New York Bridal Fashion Week (NYBFW) show.) Seeing her walk out in delicate lace flowers instantly gave the rooftop setting a modern editorial feel. The design paired perfectly with the venue’s Old Hollywood influence while still feeling contemporary.
Angeleno Beauty also deserves mention. I’ve worked alongside them a few times, and their team is collaborative, calm, and consistently delivers polished results that match each couple’s vision. They are a great fit for Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel weddings.
The skyline views, classic architecture, and fashion-forward styling made the day feel polished without being overdone.

Is a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Wedding Right for You?
The Hollywood Roosevelt is ideal for couples who want:

Few places in Los Angeles combine history, design, and flexibility like this. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel will inspire you to create a celebration that’s iconic, relaxed, and distinctly LA.
