I was so excited to photograph Tatom and Nick’s wedding at Cafe Brauer I just knew it was going to be a gorgeous event. Cafe Brauer is such a gorgeous Chicago wedding venue!

Chicago is the mecca of weddings, but your honeymoon determines how you’ll be able to enjoy it! If you think about staying in a hotel and having nothing else to do then hit an Italian restaurant for old times sake, let’s think harder. At Cafe Brauer Chicago Weddings they provide a variety of services from catering and event rentals to DJs that make sure no one will want to sneak out early!

When I arrived at the salon in the morning I knew it was going to be a great day! The bridesmaids ready and had champagne in the hotel, one of my favorites, Ambassador Chicago hotel. Tatom actually used to be a bridal model and so we kind of relived those days and did some amazing photos of her in her dress—such a blast.

Ceremony at Cafe Brauer

Tatom had told me she wanted to bypass the first look, she said her goal was to “make Nick cry” (her words!!), so we jumped straight into the ceremony at Cafe Brauer. As Tatom started down the aisle, guess what? Nick totally cried, it was so perfect and emotional. They had a beautiful ceremony at Cafe Brauer, which may be one of my favorite venues in the city. Not only is Cafe Brauer beautiful with exposed brick, Chicago skyline views, outdoor areas for small ceremonies for a cocktail hour but it is also a historic building and even listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Reception details were amazing and Tatom did all the planning herself; but of course, shout out to her day-of coordinator Meredith Ahern, for keeping the whole day on track. We did speeches and first dance and headed to the open dance floor, which was so amazingly full, with the live band Entourage just rocking the whole place!

Finally, at the end of the night, I pulled them in front of Cafe Brauer’s fun red neon sign to do a few night shots (which, if you haven’t realized by now, is one of my signature little things I try to do for all my couples!!).
