Chicago Wedding at The Joinery- Chicago Wedding Photographer

Chicago Wedding at The Joinery – Chicago Wedding Photographer. Anya & Bailey got married in the middle of the pandemic but didn’t have a photographer to document their special day. Me and few other vendors had planned on having a styled shoot and once I heard about their story I knew that they were the perfect couple to ask to be our models! I asked if they’d interested in doing this styled shoot and they happily agreed. After, we got things in motion for one of the most epic styled shoots EVER!

The Joinery

For this wedding shoot I worked with Bristol from Sustainable SoirĂ©es to plan everything and work with the amazing vendors and it was such a blast. In order to fit the sort of moody vibe we were going for, the perfect venue we thought of was the Chicago wedding venue, The Joinery. We first started off with the invitations with Cindy from The Hustling Heart. Her work is absolutely amazing and we were definitely going for a moody fun vibe which turned out perfectly! We incorporated fringe and disco balls and overall she did a phenomenal job and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The amount of effort and creativity that went into making these invites was amazing and matched our theme to a T.

Of course, I had to snag some shots of Bailey getting ready in the morning and Anya getting dress too. Anya had sold her original wedding dress, but for this styled shoot we were able to get her a sample dress and it fit her PERFECTLY. Can you believe it??? The designer of the dress was Goli June and she looked absolutely breathtaking.

Green Spoon Kitchen came and catered the styled shoot too! They came and made drinks and food and it was unbelievable. I absolutely love all of the photos that we took with their food at the safe house which is the speakeasy type area with the cocktails. We next moved downstairs to the main space which is where most people get married. It’s beautifully decorated with stunning table decor, centerpieces and just really adds some spice to the whole styled shoot. The florists Anemone did such an amazing job and they looked stunning throughout the whole space.

Ceremony & Reception

After getting dressed, we head upstairs where The Joinery has a speakeasy! They had dark walls and only one window in the room. We really played around the window and light to get some amazing incredibly dynamic images. I think one of the best things about styled shoots is that we really are able to take our time. We are able to play around a lot more when it comes to poses, lighting and be more experimental. On a normal wedding day, couples don’t have that much time for experimenting so being able to step outside of the box and test our creativity is always fun. Also on a regular wedding day, couples want to be able to capture the picturesque beauty of Chicago while these styled shoots we really want to showcase off the beautiful venue and that’s exactly what we did!

We placed Anya & Bailey as if it were really there ceremony and it was just a fun time. The Joinery’s space is breathtaking and such an amazing wedding venue. I love The Joinery especially for all of the natural light that they have coming in. The lighting is unmatched with their skylights and it seriously makes the images look so cool. After the ceremony photos, we did have a whole dinner set up. We had the florals, dinner, the invites and everything! We also incorporated some disco balls into the mix which I felt added something extra to the entire shoot. Green Spoon Kitchen really knocked it out of the park and we were able to grab some amazing shots of the couple with all of the amazing decor.

Chicago Wedding Venue

Probably my favorite photos of the day had to be when I pulled out the flash on my camera! I pointed my flash at the couple holding disco balls and we were able to create such epic shots. With the help of Bristol and all of the amazing vendors we really were able to get some amazing shots and just have a super fun time. It seriously felt like a party! I will be linking all of the vendors who participated in making such a wonderful styled shoot! Also, shoutout to The Joinery for having us and I absolutely love their entire space.
