Savannah and Mike traveled cross-country for their picturesque Michigan destination wedding on their family farm. Overflowing with breathtaking scenery and priceless memories, both new and old, it’s such a special experience to celebrate your wedding in a meaningful place. Sunroom Sippin’

Savannah started the morning sipping champagne and getting ready with her girls in a beautiful sunroom with front-row seats to the rolling farmland beyond. We made sure to include a champagne pop, and it created some epic pictures, especially in the phenomenal sunlight! For most weddings I shoot, I love combining the authenticity of documentary-style photos throughout the day with some editorial shots mixed in. My goal is that your gallery artistically and authentically reflects your day. That way, you’ll have a great selection for photojournalistic albums and wall art or portraits. Trust me; you’ll want both for different purposes. 

When Savannah was finished with hair and makeup and slipped into her dress, she shared intimate first-look moments with all of her people. The first look with her dad sparked so many sweet tears. Her bridesmaids were the perfect hype team, letting Savannah know just how drop-dead gorgeous she looked! And last but absolutely not least, Savannah shared her first look with Mike. From the heart-tugging look on Mike’s face to the tears shared, this moment was everything! 

Pre-Ceremony Personalized Vows

Mike and Savannah chose to share their vows privately with one another before the ceremony. After the first look, they took some time to be alone. I shot from a distance to give them privacy while documenting the moment. Always remember that I am here to work with you! It’s not only about getting the photos but also about what you want out of your day. All-weather Wedding Party Champs

This wedding party was brimming with contagious energy! We took portraits near the house in the middle of the field. There wasn’t much shade on the property, but these troopers handled the 90+ degree heat like champs. You can feel the joy radiating from these images! Guests arrived early, so we quickly tucked Savannah away before the ceremony.

Backyard Ceremony + Luxury Tented Reception

Their gorgeous backyard ceremony was short and so, so sweet. It’s easy to see that these two are madly in love! After officially becoming Mr. and Mrs., guests retreated to a dreamy white tent reception while we snagged some family portraits. 

Their luxury tent is what outdoor reception dreams are made of, complete with lights, décor, florals, and even a stage, dancefloor, and live band! The ruffled crisp-white drapery made this tent so beautiful and elegant. Plus, it was a perfect solution for escaping direct sunlight while still basking in the fresh air and stunning countryside. As the sun started to set, the band began to play, and the party got started. This was a perfect time to steal the newlyweds away for some golden hour photos.

Golden Hour Portraits

We took a truck to the back of the property (thankful for 4-wheel drive) to find the perfect portrait spot. Among the many reasons to love a backyard wedding, my favorite might be the running-through-the-field bridal shots and middle-of-nowhere smooches. (After all, you can’t run through a field in your wedding dress just anywhere!) We snapped some seriously gorgeous photos and headed back to the reception to dance the night away.
