Spring Chicago Engagement Photos

Spring Chicago Engagement Photos. Engagement sessions are more than just pretty photos with epic views. Although here in Chicago we get a LOT of that, there is more to this city than just pretty skylines. I love it when my couples want to try something different and incorporate locations that are off the beaten path. After some crazy inclement weather (thank you Chicago), and a bit of reschedules, Rachel and Jake were finally able to get their engagement photos done. Due to us having to reschedule their engagement photos the first time, we ended up shooting on a weekday! This ended up working in our favor since it was a lot less busy and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Green Street Smoked Meats

First, we started their spring engagement photos at Green Street Smoked Meats which is a BBQ place here in Chicago. This location is such a cool spot to shoot at, especially because of the little alleyway they have. Not only that, but the food and drinks here are amazing so definitely go check it out! We really wanted to showcase the space, so we moved around a lot! Towards the back they had a garage door with some vintage signs on it. Rachel & Zach are champagne fanatics so when they say the Veuve Clicquot sign on the garage, we just knew it was meant to be. There was some insanely beautiful light peeking in through the alley way which made it look so dreamy. We then made our way over to the West Loop. West Loop has some breathtaking murals which were a must have to shoot at.

North Ave Beach

After, we made our way over to North Ave Beach to end this beautiful engagement session. As you can tell from other blog posts, North Ave Beach is a fan favorite. Not only for me, but for my couples as well! You’re able to get amazing lighting on top of the gorgeous Chicago skyline views in the back. One of the best reasons to shoot your engagement session during the Spring time at North Ave Beach is because there is far less people. Once Summer hits, volleyball season begins and the beach swarms with people which can take away from your beautiful engagement photos. That’s why I always recommend that this is a destination spot for you and your SO, aim to shoot your engagement photos in the Spring!

Spring Chicago Engagement Photos

I was obsessed with Rachel’s dress, it was so beautiful. The green perfectly complimented the scenery and both of them looked amazing. We stuck around for the city lights to come on for us to capture some shots with those in the back too. We ended their engagement photos by doing the ever so famous champagne pop (with of course, their favorite high class champagne). I even got to taste test to see what all the hype was about and well… it did NOT disappoint.

This day was everything I could have imagined and more. Rachel and Jake were such a blast to photograph and we seriously had the best time running around Chicago. I absolutely fell in love with their radiating personalities and their love story. I’m so happy and honored to have been there to capture these memories for their engagement photos to cherish forever. Congratulations Rachel & Jake!
