Big Delicious Planet Intimate Elopement

Big Delicious Planet Intimate Elopement. I was so excited when Stephanie and Alex reached out for me to cover their small intimate elopement here in Chicago. We started off their special day meeting at the South Pond at Lincoln Park for their first look. It was a warm and slightly cloudy summer day, so the greenery was as vibrant as ever. Since Stephanie and Alex were having an outdoor wedding, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. In the summer, Chicago can get VERY hot so having a bit of clouds and shade makes for the perfect outdoor wedding temperatures! After their first look we made our way to the bridge so get some photos with the gorgeous skyline view. Of course, while we’re in Lincoln Park, we needed to get some portraits done at the Honeycomb before heading to the ceremony. Lincoln Park has so many beautiful locations and is the ultimate spot for wedding portraits. It’s one of my favorite locations to shoot at and is a top place that I love recommending to all of my couples when looking for portrait locations.

After taking some photos, we then headed over to Big Delicious Planet for their ceremony! As always, BDP is such an amazing place and I absolutely love getting to work with them. They always go above and beyond for any event and this one was no exception. The outdoor patio was to die for and the pergola filled with greenery just made for such a romantic atmosphere. One of my goals is to shoot a wedding here at night so that I can really play around with all of the beautiful dangling lights that they have in their outdoor space. As the ceremony began, the officiant gave such a touching speech which was the absolute cutest. They chose to actually have their ceremony in front of this vine wall, which looks absolutely amazing in photos (10/10 would recommend!). The wedding was small since Alex and Stephanie chose to have an intimate elopement. Surrounded by close family & friends, they said their vows, exchanged rings, kissed and they were officially newlyweds!

After the ceremony, they grabbed some cocktails as we took a few more portraits with them as husband and wife. They couldn’t stop staring at their rings and you could really tell how excited they were to officially have tied the knot. The day finished with a few speeches, some cake cutting and some AMAZING food (again, shoutout to BDP!). I am so happy to have been their to document this intimate elopement for Stephanie & Alex and getting to see the smile on their faces is EVERYTHING! Congratulations S+A!
