Botánico Intimate Wedding in Wicker Park, Chicago – Chicago Wedding Photos

Botánico Intimate Wedding in Wicker Park, Chicago. Katie & John got in touch with me when they began planning their wedding here in Chicago. It was in the middle of the pandemic but they didn’t mind. They wanted to have a small and intimate wedding anyway, so it worked out perfectly!

Plymouth Bar

We did their first look and portraits at all of their favorite locations. First was Plymouth Bar where they did their first look. Plymouth Bar is actually where they had their first date. It was so cute to go back and relive such special moments with them. There was such beautiful light and the street was completely dead and I just loved it! The colors of Plymouth Bar were so vibrant and cool and really stood out in photos. Since it was during the pandemic we couldn’t go inside Plymouth Bar. Thankfully the bar had beautiful exterior decorations and neon lights and it looked absolutely stellar. There was gorgeous light across the street from Plymouth Bar too. We captured some shots with them in some gorgeous light over there as well. We also took some epic photos of them underneath the train tracks!

Next, we headed to Lasalle Blue Line Stop where we took some stunning photos. Then we headed to some more well known Chicago locations such as the Wrigley Building, Olive Park and the Chicago Skyline. We actually had finished location portraits early and Katie & John really wanted to get a cocktail since they couldn’t at Plymouth Bar.

Beatnick West Town

The perfect place we thought of for cocktails was Beatnick West Town! I have shot at Beatnick West Town before, so I went up and asked if we could take some photos at the bar and they said yes! It was such a fun and cool spot to stop at and we grabbed some amazing shots of them drinking cocktails. Our last stop before their ceremony was their home where they wanted to grab some photos with their pup. They didn’t live that far from Beatnick, so the commute was not long at all!

Botánico Intimate Wedding

Finally it came time for their ceremony at Botánico. Botánico is on top of Mama Delia’s which is a super delicious restaurant that is also beautifully decorated right in Wicker Park here in Chicago. We took some photos of them in front of the bar before it opened and then we went into their ceremony. Botánico is so pretty for a ceremony because the ceiling is completely open with skylight and there is so much natural light coming in. There is a million plants inside of the space and it’s just breathtaking!

Katie & John did their ceremony in their accompanied by their closest family members and then they went into their reception. We captured some cake cutting, dancing and then of course before they left we had to get some photos of them on the second floor of Botánico. The second floor gives me speakeasy vibes so we just HAD to get some photos there. It gave us such sultry & romantic vibes.

Botánico is such an amazing place to have a small wedding. From all of the natural light to the hundreds of plants surrounding the space, it really gives you such earthy & organic vibes. Katie & John thank you so much for letting me capture your special day, it was such an epic time!
