Chicago Skyline Elopement Photos – Kelsey and Blake were supposed to get married in 2020 but due to the pandemic, things didn’t go as planned. They decided to reschedule their wedding to 2021, but Kelsey and Blake still wanted elope prior to their big celebration. Their wedding date had to change because surprise, surprise… City Hall wasn’t accepting appointments that weekends – so they had to reschedule to a Friday. Regardless, their session was amazing and here’s how it went!!

After their elopement ceremony at City Hall I met up with Kelsey and Blake. They decided to get their photos done at Ping Tom Memorial Park in the Chinatown Area in Chicago. One thing I can say for certain, is that 2020 had some amazing changing of the seasons. Kelsey and Blake surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage and everything was absolutely beautiful. One great thing about Ping Tom Memorial Park is that one way you walk, there is amazing greenery and gardens and then if you walk the other way you get more city vibes. It seriously is the coolest spot!!!

It was a chilly day to say the least and it was a bit wet from the rain earlier in the day. Luckily for us though, the rain stopped just in time! I absolutely love the bouquet that Kelsey had of wildflowers – it seriously was so beautiful. Bouquets are a great thing to incorporate for your elopement to really make you feel like it’s a wedding day. I also think that bouquets are a perfect accessory to couple photos as well.

Throughout walking the grounds, we made sure to do a whole lot of hugging and celebrating. On the way to the city views, we actually stopped at one of my favorite murals in Chicago. It’s this blue and white flower mural and it is jaw droppingly beautiful!! It is so unique and different than any mural that I have seen, so I had to make sure we got some shots there! I specifically love this spot for suits and wedding dresses because it really makes them stand out.

Finally, Kelsey, Blake and I walked up the hill and the park was completely empty thanks to the rain earlier. We were able to have some AMAZING city views that were breathtaking. We got some amazing shots of them cheersing and really making it look like it was their wedding ceremony with the beautiful backdrop of the city.

It seriously was such a blast to shoot with Kelsey and Blake, even if the day was pretty chilly. I’m actually pretty sure Kelsey’s toes must have froze off by the end of the shoot!!! Sometimes doing a session on a really cold day can end up being a blessing in disguise. Despite the cold weather, we were able to have some amazing views and get some great shots.

If you loved their Chicago Skyline Elopement, then you will absolutely love this Midwest Elopement!
