Firehouse Chicago Proposal – Chicago Wedding Photographer. Kelsey first got in touch with me when planning their proposal when there weren’t much details! We went through a bunch of different ideas, but ended up choosing the Firehouse Chicago! Firehouse Chicago is a beautiful wedding venue and the ultimate surprise!

Proposal at Firehouse Chicago

They talked to Firehouse Chicago and planned the proposal and knew that it was going to be absolutely epic. The venue has a beautiful rustic and vintage feel paired with an absolutely stunning garden area. With high ceilings, glazed brick and stunning historic touches, it is so wonder why it is a fan favorite here in Chicago. There is even an upstairs area where you can get ready and is SUPER convenient. You really could spend the entire day at the venue if you really wanted to, which I feel is pretty cool!

It was then proposal time! I kept in contact with Kelsey (via text) to make sure we coordinated the perfect time for me to capture the special moment. Proposals can sometimes be nerve wracking only because you have to hide and make sure no one sees you. Nonetheless, I found my spot and waited for my cue to jump out and capture the special moment. Jo’s reaction was just priceless and everything we could have imagined and more. They were completely shocked and I’d like to say this proposal was a MAJOR success!

Portraits

We then made our way around the venue taking portraits. Every corner I turned I was just in serious awe of how beautiful the architecture was. Serious shoutout to Firehouse Chicago for letting us use this space for an absolutely beautiful & epic proposal! Another shoutout goes to Kelsey & Jo for being troopers and having their proposal done on a rainy day! Despite the gloomy weather, it was still the most perfect proposal. We took advantage of this gloomy weather and made sure to get some shots of them with umbrellas and them dancing in the rain. I was pretty much obsessed with the entire day, tbh!

Even with the gloomy weather and rain, this proposal was a major success! I love being able to capture such raw and real emotions, like Jo’s reaction. As nerve wracking as it is to be a hidden spy, it is TOTALLY worth it for the incredible end results.
