Getting Ready & First Look

Greenhouse Loft Chicago Wedding Photos. You may recognize these two faces since I actually have another blog post written about them! Due to the pandemic, these two had changed their wedding plans and eloped last year! Now that it’s 2021, the two have come together to do it all over again with all of their closest friends & family! Alyssa and Alyssia started their day off with a first look which of course, was incredibly beautiful. These two are just so gorgeous and so filled with love for each other, which really radiated in this moment.

After their first look, we ran around the city to get some amazing Chicago wedding portraits. One thing you should know about Alyssia and Alyssa is that they are always down for an adventure. So whenever I suggest any crazy/wild ideas they are always on board which is what I love about them! These two lovebirds know how to have a good time, so naturally their wedding portraits were filled with nothing but laughs and smiles. What you don’t see through the photos, is that while we were running around Chicago on this day it was about 100 degrees! Shoutout to them for being such troopers and putting up with the hot weather for some amazing wedding portraits.

Once portraits were done, we headed over to Greenhouse Loft for their ceremony! Both of them walked down the aisle and they looked absolutely amazing. To be honest, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight! Alyssa and Alyssia had a Jewish ceremony, so throughout the ceremony they stood underneath a chuppah. After saying their “I do’s” the two FINALLY were married (again, haha)!! Once the ceremony was over, Alyssa and Alyssia walked down the aisle together as newlyweds and it was such a special moment.

We then headed into reception where the amount of natural light was to die for! First dances came and then something exciting happened! Their friends and siblings started singing to the newlyweds and completely caught them off guard. These special moments are some of my favorite to catch on wedding days because it was a complete surprise and was pulled off successfully. You’ll even see some great reaction shots of Alyssa and Alyssia as they start listening to everyone singing!

Sticking with Jewish tradition, everyone headed to the dance floor to participate in the hora! The hora is a dance where two newlyweds are carried on chairs by wedding guests and essentially hoping they don’t fall over. It was such a fun time and let me tell you… these wedding guests know how to party! Before heading out for the night, I grabbed the two lovebirds for some night shots before packing up my camera.

The day was honestly a dream come true. From the sudden wedding changes because of the pandemic, to an elopement 1 year ago and now their dream wedding… it really does come full circle. I feel so honored to have been apart of such a special journey for Alyssia and Alyssa. Through the ups and downs they made it through and living happily ever after – cheers to you both!
